Buying games and consoles doesn’t have to cost the earth

Most consoles particularly when brand new come with a pretty hefty price tag, the companies always charge a premium when the consoles are first released and even as a pre-release inflated rate.

For lots of people this can mean that a lot of consoles are simply out of reach. So how can you get the console you’d like without breaking the bank?

For consoles that aren’t the latest models you can tend to pick these up second hand on online auction sites. You can also get most consoles second-hand that have been reconditioned or at the very least tested and these then tend to come with a warranty that give you a bit of protection should anything go wrong with the console after you have bought it.

Games can also be sold second-hand and as long as the discs aren’t scratched, they tend to play just fine. For brand new games it can also be more cost effective to sign up to a gaming subscription that allows you access to as many games as you like for a monthly fee.

It’s always best to shop around for the best price and check second-hand shops and pawn brokers as they often sell electricals at a discounted rate.
