You can also get most consoles second-hand that have been reconditioned or at the very least tested and these then tend to come with a warranty that give you a bit of protection should anything go wrong with the console after you have bought it.

Games can also be sold second-hand and as long as the discs aren’t scratched, they tend to play just fine. For brand new games it can also be more cost effective to sign up to a gaming subscription that allows you access to as many games as you like for a monthly fee.
